My story, experience, and more.

I decided to write 10000, being the minimum word count for myself. My story is about a teenage girl who thought she had the perfect life, but after her brother, Jordan, gets into a car accident, everything and everyone changes forever. To write 10000 total words by the end of November was a definitely a struggle for myself. I had times where I thought I would never finish but my friends and family pushed me to finish. The experience was such a awesome one. We had a field trip at school where we got to video chat with a creative writing class in Louisiana, we also had a Twitter chat with Laurie Halse Anderson. We also had snacks and it was just a overall fun time.

Why NaNo?

Why I decided to do NaNo..

Ever since I was little, I always wrote stories, whatever idea came into my mind, I had to write that down. This is my senior year of high school and I thought I needed to do something new, something different. One day, my English teacher Mrs. Hicks, who was the one who was in charge of NaNo posed the opportunity to the creative writing class and I knew I wanted to do this. Mrs. Cavicchia told us we could do NaNo in place of an assignment. I thought NaNo was a great opportunity for me to write my own novel.

NaNo

On November 1, participants begin working towards the goal of writing a 50,000-word novel by 11:59 PM on November 30.
